By far, the most important quality is not how much IQ you’ve got. IQ is not the scarce factor. You need a reasonable amount of intelligence, but the temperament is 90 percent of it. When you’re 81, you’re gonna have more fun than you’re having now. I mean, 81 is a great year. I look forward to doing what I do.… I forget whether it was Mel Ott, when he was playing for the Giants or somebody, said, “You know, they—you mean they pay me for this?” That’s the way I feel.
